Wildlife -
Sri Lanka has a great
wildlife, some 86 mammal species include elephants, leopards, deer,
monkeys, sloth bear, jackal, wild boar and the porcupine.

Some 54 species of fish are
found and of the reptiles, there are two species of crocodiles and out of
the 83 species of snakes recorded, only 5 are poisonous. Also found
are 40 species of frogs and toads. |
|
Endangered species include
the elephant, sloth bear, leopard, several species of birds,
fish and Insects and all five turtle species of Sri Lanka. |
